I’m shutting down my xanga post. I like blogspot and wordpress a lot more. To revive what I wanted to say in the last xanga post…I am currently in love with this song. Here’s an excerpt of the lyric:
What are you holding out for?
What’s always in the way?
Why so damn absent-minded?
Why so scared of romance?
This modern love breaks me.
This modern love wastes me.
- “This Modern Love” – Bloc Party
There is something about modernity that is lacking. I still can’t quite put my finger on it, but I want something different that this. Don’t take the lyrics at face value; I’m not just talking about “love.”
Onto another topic: Thanksgiving Break
I LOVE FAMILY. My brother is getting so tall! He is only six, and I feel as if he is going to outgrow me any moment.
I’m currently reading A Biography of the Continent: Africa by John Reader for HIST076 Africa Since 1800. If I could do it all over again, I would be a History major. I chose to take this class because I want to go to Africa for this coming summer, which was the plan for summer 2006. Ugh…I’ve written enough about summer 2006 on the other blog and it makes me sick to read it again. My mom was right (why does she always have to be right) when she said I would have so much fun when I’m older when reading diary entries from the past. I’ve kept some kind of diary/journal since I could write, since I was four or five. Haha although I can no longer understand what I wrote pre-age 10 because of my forgetting Mandarin, it’s still fun to have my parents read the entries back to me. It’s as if I’ve gone back in time, and I get to be a kid again, still with a grander, unlimited imagination. I miss that feeling.
